Role Purpose:

The Bookkeeper/Financial Accountant and Business Administrator will take full responsibility for the management, control, and oversight of all corporate and personal financial affairs and associated administrative functions for a private individual.

The role is focused on ensuring financial clarity, accuracy, compliance, and long-term organisation across a varied portfolio of assets and interests. The successful candidate will act as a central point of coordination for financial information, supporting informed decision-making while maintaining the highest level of discretion and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete and accurate financial records across all accounts, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded, categorised, and reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income and expenditure statements, cash flow analysis, and summaries of overall financial position. Present information in a clear and practical format to support decision-making.
  • Manage all banking activities, including monitoring balances, processing payments, setting up transfers, and completing regular reconciliations across multiple accounts. Ensure liquidity is maintained and obligations are met on time.
  • Develop and manage budgets, tracking actual performance against forecasts. Identify variances, provide explanations, and recommend adjustments where required to maintain financial control.
  • Oversee tax compliance in full, including preparation and coordination of all required filings. Liaise with external Tax Advisers to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to current regulations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external professionals, including Accountants, Auditors, Legal Advisers, and Financial Consultants. Ensure all parties are provided with accurate and timely information.
  • Monitor and track investment activity, maintaining up-to-date records of performance, income, and capital movements. Provide regular summaries and highlight any significant changes or risks.
  • Establish and maintain structured filing and record management systems, both digital and physical, ensuring all financial and legal documents are securely stored and easily accessible when required.
  • Handle day-to-day administrative responsibilities, including correspondence, document preparation, scheduling, and general organisational support.
  • Review and improve existing financial and administrative processes, implementing more efficient systems where appropriate to enhance control and visibility.
  • Support long-term financial planning by maintaining accurate historical data and assisting with projections, scenario analysis, and financial reviews.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality in all matters, handling sensitive financial and personal information with the highest level of discretion at all times.

Qualification/Experience

  • Part qualified – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA.
  • Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and financial administration, ideally in a private or self-managed environment.
  • Experience supporting private individuals or managing personal financial affairs.
  • Familiarity with investment tracking and multi-asset financial oversight.
  • Experience with strategic financial planning, including forecasting, budgeting, and growth alignment.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial reporting, tax obligations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and standard office systems.
