Our client, a privately owned Irish company based in Longford, is seeking to recruit an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support the organisation in maintaining and continuously improving environmental, health, and safety standards across the site. The role will focus on ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and ISO standards, driving EHS initiatives, supporting risk management and training programmes, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the business. The successful candidate will provide the technical expertise required to support current and future operations, projects, and regulatory requirements in line with company and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

· Ensure compliance with EHS legislation, including HSA, EPA, ISO 14001, and company standards.

· Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, SOPs, and the Environmental Management System (EMS).

· Lead audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations, implementing corrective and preventative actions.

· Act as Management Representative during ISO 14001 audits, inspections, and regulatory activities.

· Manage contractor safety compliance, permitting systems, and JSAs to ensure safe work practices.

· Track and report EHS objectives, KPIs, and corporate/site performance metrics.

· Identify training needs and coordinate EHS training and awareness programmes.

· Support engineering, NPI, and equipment modification projects to ensure EHS compliance.

· Coordinate emergency response planning, drills, and Emergency Response Teams.

· Participate in corporate EHS committees and related reporting activities.

Skills & Qualifications

· Minimum 8 years’ EHS experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally injection moulding.

· Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or related discipline.

· Strong knowledge of EHS legislation and ISO standards, including ISO 45001.

· Experience supporting Engineering and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.

· Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

· QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer qualification preferred.
