RBK Welcomes Winner of 2025 Bursary Programme

RBK is pleased to welcome Rebecca Keenan from Athlone Community College, who won the 2025 RBK Bursary Programme Prize towards her chosen third level education together with an 8-week internship.

The initiative was launched at the firms 60th Anniversary in November 2018 as part of the firm’s Environmental, Social and Governance Programme and is open to all leaving cert students.

Regarding the Bursary Prize, Joe Cleary, the Managing Partner at RBK, stated “here at RBK our role in the community extends beyond being Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers. One of our fundamental values is to actively contribute to the community by providing support to educational and community initiatives.

“As a training firm, we place significant importance on educating our staff and trainees, as well as attracting the most talented individuals. RBK Announces New Transfer Pricing Director

RBK Chartered Accountants are delighted to announce that  Sobhana Rao  has joined the Firm as our new Transfer Pricing Director.

Sobhana is a Transfer Pricing Director based in RBK’s Dublin office. She has over 12 years of experience advising multinational clients across Europe, India and the Middle East, having worked with Big 4 firms (PwC and EY), as well as Grant Thornton and RSM.

Sobhana specialises in Transfer Pricing advisory and compliance, supporting clients with end-to-end TP solutions including planning, policy design and modelling, value chain analysis, documentation, and audit defence. She has advised clients across a broad spectrum of industries such as Oil & Gas, Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC), Telecommunications, Life Sciences, Financial Services, Manufacturing and Technology.

Sobhana will lead the Firm’s Transfer Pricing team and specialist Transfer Pricing service offering.

Commenting on the announcement, Ronan McGivern, Head of Tax at RBK, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sobhana to RBK and look forward to her developing our specialist Transfer Pricing offering. Sobhana’s experience includes complex advisory assignments involving operational transfer pricing, IP planning and structuring, and value chain optimisation, as well as support with Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs) and Advance Rulings. She has also helped clients navigate transfer pricing audits and tax authority negotiations.

RBK Announces Merger with Two Castlebar Accountancy Firms

RBK Chartered Accountants has announced further expansion with the merger of two accountancy practices in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.

As Ireland’s largest independent firm of Chartered Accountants, RBK has merged with MCP Accountants and OMC O’Malley & Company, both long established accountancy practices based in Castlebar, with effect from May 2025.

The combined entities will have revenue of in excess of €26 million, a team of 19 partners with over 270 professionals and support staff across 4 offices, consolidating RBK’s position as a leading national accountancy and advisory firm. The merged firms will trade as RBK.

The merger will establish a new RBK office in Castlebar.  Cathal Melia , Audit & Business Advisory Partner will act as Partner in Charge and will oversee the integration of the full range of RBK services into the Castlebar Office.

Reflecting on today’s announcement, Joe Cleary, Managing Partner with RBK, said: “ This is a significant milestone for our firm and we take great pride in our existing links to the region and in the strong presence we have built in the West of Ireland.
