Trustee Advice & Training

The Social Welfare & Pensions Act 2008 obliges employers to arrange appropriate training for pension scheme trustees in relation to the Pensions Act, laws governing the operation and effective management of pension schemes, and the duties and responsibilities of trustees.

  • Persons acting as scheme trustees are obliged to undertake retraining every two years
  • New trustees must complete training within six months of their appointment as a trustee
  • Where a limited company acts as trustee, all company directors must undertake training.
