Strategic Support

Since the passing of the Credit Union and Co-operation with Overseas Regulators Act 2012, strategic planning is now a legal requirement for Credit Unions.

RBK’s specialist team have completed a number of independent strategic and operational reviews of Credit Unions, facilitated Board rejuvenation and advised on strategy and communication with the Central Bank.

The process of developing a Strategic Plan involves taking time out to look externally and internally at critical information, trends, and key issues facing your Credit Union. You must decide on your organisation’s purpose, vision, goals, objectives and prioritise strategies for a specific time period.

Strategic planning is an exciting part of the governance of a Credit Union and should be a positive and enlightening process.

RBK’s Credit Union team can assist you in this process with:

  • Environmental analysis
  • Business model analysis
  • Financial analysis
  • Consultation with stakeholders
  • SWOT analysis
  • Strategy formulations
  • Financial projections
  • Stress tests
  • Implementation planning
  • Research of Board and Staff views
  • Retreat workshops

While the duty to prepare the strategic plan rests on the Board of Directors, RBK will facilitate the process. We provide structure and energy, we challenge the thinking of those involved and we deliver a quantitative and qualitative analysis. We believe that we can help you to find the right balance while allowing your Board to retain ownership of the strategy.
